Christian baptism is a symbolic act of obedience that identifies a person with Christ by sharing the Gospel story.
Baptism is a symbol of one’s relationship with Christ. Being baptized does not make a person a Christian. However, once a person is a Christian, baptism is a symbol of the covenant relationship he now has with Christ (1 Peter 3:21).
Baptism is a step of obedience (Matt. 28:19).
Baptism identifies us with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection (Rom. 6:3–5; Acts 8:38–39).
Baptism shares the Gospel story (Acts 8:34–39).
